First Ever Artisan Market!

I held my first ever Market this weekend at Denton West End Library and it was a HUGE success!

During Lockdown many local businesses took to the Dane Bank Facebook community page to try and advertise and keep their businesses afloat during a very, very difficult time. I was absolutely blown away by the local community support in this group. Steve Williams and Jen Carter had messaged me about possibly setting up an Artisan market to raise money for our local library and of course to help promote our own little businesses. Jen and Steve were fantastic organising the event and as social distancing needed to be in place we had to ensure all was safe with a one way route around the stalls, sanitiser and 2 metre markings. Jen managed to get an article in the Tameside Correspondent for the event and lots of social media advertising.

14 stalls were set up and opened at 10am by Andrew Gwynn, Labor MP for Denton and Reddish and despite a little rain and a bit of wind there was a constant flow of people. The Dane Bank characters were all there in full costumes and Steve managed to raise £487 on the Tombola which all went to the library! Well done to all involved! Hopefully we can get another one organised for next month!
